Apparently in US 40% of COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital are       age 20 to 54.
12 % of ICU admissions are individuals aged 20 to 44 and 36% are         between ages 45 to 64.

Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the US and expert's recommendations for patients and staff safety, our physical office is closed temporarily effective March 16, 2020.

In this difficult time, we are starting the process of transitioning to telemedicine so that we can continue to take care of our patients. If you are experiencing any upper respiratory symptoms or you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please dial the St. Luke's Hospital hotline at 1-866-785-8537 option 7.

For COVID-19 testing, the LVPG site in Stroudsburg is at: 1655 West Main Street Stroudsburg PA, 18360 with hours from 8am to 8pm however you need to have request to be tested.

My philosophy as a physician is always "Primum non nocere" which translates to: First do no harm.

It was a very difficult decision for me to temporarily stop seeing patients in our physical location however with COVID-19 outbreak I have no choice.

In my and many of medical experts opinion our priority at this time is to slow down transmission of this very contagious and dangerous virus.
I cannot in good conscience ask my patients to travel for well checks and possibly be exposed to a potentially deadly disease.

My advice for everyone is to stay home and try to avoid any unnecessary contact with other people which is the only way to avoid infection and slow down transmission of the virus.

At this time there is only supportive care available for infected individuals.

Population over age 60 and people with hypertension, cardiovascular problems and diabetes are at very high risk to have serious and deadly complications due to the virus**.

I would like to outline my recommendations:

1. Isolation, please stay home, I think the next 2-3 weeks are going to be critical.

2. Hydration, check your fluid and electrolytes intake and try to maintain proper hydration which should be about 1/2 of your body weight in oz.

3. Anything you touch in public can be contaminated with virus. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water and don't touch your face.

4. Supplements to support immune system:

Vitamin C 1000 mg daily (liposomal or buffered)
Vitamin D3 2000 units daily
Vitamin A best from dietary source: carrots, sweat potatoes, oranges, raw dairy, organic eggs, cod liver oil or as a supplement - retinol palmitate up to 5000 units daily.

5.To support mental health remember about the power of prayer and       there is also free meditation available through The Chopra Center
 Hope in Uncertain Times

6. With symptoms of COVID-19 is considered safe to use only:

Vitamin C up to 2000 mg daily
Zinc up to 15 mg daily in divided doses
Remember to hydrate and add electrolytes to your water
Don't use Ibuprofen, Advil, Naproxen, Aspirin or any other NSAIDS
You can use Tylenol 500 mg every 6 hours if needed unless you have      tylenol allergy or liver problems.

6. Eliminate any sugary drinks, alcohol and sweets. They are detrimental for immune system.

If you need to contact me call 570-421-4331

Stay well !!!
